Weekly Guidance 2/13 – 2/19

Picture

The Page of Wands comes in the beginning of the week to help us overcome obstacles and challenges in regards to our creativity, passion and motivation.

In the middle of the week we have the 3 of Cups which indicates some sort of celebration, friendship and social connection.

We are able to find a like-minded community that makes us feel like we are a part of something.

At the end of the week we have the 2 of Cups, which is more of a one-on-one meeting of the hearts.

There’s a union of complimentary pairs that shows us that we can value each other’s differences.

Because we have the 2 & 3 of Cups this week, it’s likely that the challenges in the beginning of the week will help us find a way to feel more connected to those around us later in the week in a way that is truly authentic.

What makes something Sacred/Holy?

Weekly Reading 1/30 – 2/5

Picture

In the beginning of the week, the 9 of Wands has us feeling defensive and like we need to protect ourselves.

We may feel worn out, exhausted, tired, or at the end of our ropes.

Like we’ve used all our resources.

In the middle of the week, Strength comes in and reminds us that we are not weak, and we need to focus on the things that are worth fighting for.

Sometimes the point where we are feeling most vulnerable is really when we find what makes us strong.

At the end of the week we have the 2 of Wands which has us seeing potential and feeling powerful.

We can use our Strength to be visionaries.

Long term planning and thinking in terms of the bigger picture will help us to create innovative solutions for our lives.

Native Spirit

The Native American spirit sat alone by a towering tree waiting for his lover. He didn’t know how long he had been there, and she wasn’t even sure if he knew he’d passed away a long, long time ago.

She had been on a nature walk in the warm spring breeze, and she had her magical staff with her.  She was out to greet and giggle with the hidden folk, and make offerings to the elements.

Since she knew how to help spirits cross over, she asked him if he would like some help.  Since this was a stubborn spirit, he said no.

“You can’t help everyone,” she said “you have to respect their free will.”  So she let him be, and went on her way.

I met her in the fall, when my grandpa had come to the end of his life.   The song, “Don’t Fear the Reaper,” by Blue Oyster Cult ran through my mind over and over.  The ding of the cowbell was like the tick, tick, tick of the clock.

She taught me that when we die, we have a choice of where to go.  Sometimes, we choose to stick around a little longer.

We were all sitting in a circle, and there was a group consensus to attempt to guide that Native American spirit again.  Maybe he’ll change his mind.

The woman who enters non-ordinary reality through the eyes of Jesus said, “I don’t think she’s around anymore…” meaning his lover who he waited for.  She came around to say she’s sorry, she’s moved on.  She didn’t know he’d been waiting for her all this time.

His two brothers from his tribe came to help.  They were warriors, they came back for him and they showed him where he could go.

We put him in a canoe and sailed him off down the river toward the nature realms.

Weekly Guidance 1/16 – 1/22

We have peace and mental clarity at the beginning of the week with the 4 of Swords.

This would be a good time to simplify and organize your life and your thoughts.

Spend some time in prayer/meditation, and purifying and cleansing your sacred space.  Bring order to chaos.

With the Sun moving into Aquarius in the middle of the week, we strive toward Higher Ideals.

The Ace of Pentacles comes in and advises us to start from where we are.

What can we offer with what we have now, to participate and be in the flow of life?  We all have something that we can offer.

With the Wheel of Fortune at the end of the week, we know that we can always handle whatever comes our way.

Life will never give you something you’re not prepared for, unless it’s a catalyst for change, or to nudge you in a certain direction.

Open up to opportunities that come your way.

Try new things, and if you feel like you’re not ready, practice until you are.

Sometimes we also need to start before we’re ready, and then we have a remembrance of what we’re doing as we’re doing it.

We’re never done learning and experiencing.

Day after day, moment after moment, there’s still another level of learning, uncovering, discovering, clearing, maturing, purifying, etc.

Whatever it is, we’re always evolving, we’re always changing, and there is never an end, we’re never done.

That’s why on the Wheel, the Tarot ends and beings with a T, because endings and beginnings go hand in hand.

Weekly Reading 1/9 – 1/15

Picture

The Queen of Wands at the beginning of the week means that we are very busy with social activities and taking care of business.

But it’s fun for us and we enjoy it and we’re able to take care everything very easily.

With the Queen of Cups in the middle of the week we have emotional stability.

Happiness peace, calm, and tranquility.

We’re easily able to handle emotional situations.

At the end of the week we have the Two of Swords, which can be like being at a crossroads or some sort of stalemate where we can’t really see the future or the next step.

This card means that we need to rely on our mental powers and the combined power of our logic and intuition to make a decision.

Sometimes if we put off making a decision for too long the universe will make a choice for us.

Participating in the flow of life means that sometimes we must decide – even if it may not be the right decision it’s at least better than making no decision at all.

If things feel stuck, stagnant, or blocked, tune in to your subconscious and find out what may be slowing you down.  This will help to find out how to get the ball rolling again.

Weekly Reading January 2nd – 8th

Picture

The World kicks of the week with a sense of accomplishment and the feeling of coming full circle.

We are seeing the bigger picture of our lives.

With the World card, we have an opportunity to complete cycles so we don’t have to keep repeating them.

The 5 of Cups shows up, which represents emotions, particularly grief, regret, disappointment, isolation, guilt, apathy, etc.

Whenever a major change is happening, we need to acknowledge the transformation and shedding of the past to fully move forward without emotional baggage weighing us down.

That may mean taking a moment to first know where you’ve been and where you’re going, and finding out if there’s a part of you that feels left behind, forgotten, unsure, uncomfortable, etc.

Thank that part of you for what it’s taught you in the past and for being there for you when you needed it.

Let that part of you know that it’s ok, and it’s safe to come along for the ride in your new plans/new approach to life/ different changes you’re experiencing.

The 3 of Cups is about feeling supported and included by a like-minded community, as opposed to the rejection of the 5 of Cups.

Always being true to yourself may sometimes leave you feeling outcast.

More often than not, being true to yourself will actually inspire those around you and attract other people who are on the same wavelength.

Now, you’re stronger than ever because you’ve survived so much and remained true to yourself, so you’re invincible to shine your light.

Weekly Guidance 12/26 – 1/1

Picture

A very interesting week lies ahead of us.

First we have the Wheel of Fortune, which means that we are at a turning point.

This can be sort of a wild card which brings the unexpected.  It’s up to us to use what we get for our greatest good and highest potential.

At times when there are big changes happening in our lives, or a turning of the season, it can be even more important to stay centered.

Connect with what grounds us – whether that is our meditative practice or our family…whatever makes us feel at home.

It’s important to get back to our true selves after being pulled in different directions so we don’t lose our sense of inner navigation.

Judgement comes in to remind us that we all have an inner calling, special purpose, and reason for being here…

…and your individual life is intimately connected to all of life.

Your personal wellbeing influences the whole of humanity and the world.

Can you imagine if every single person in the world was making choices and decisions out of their greatest good in every single moment?

Individuals wouldn’t be able to consciously do harm to another because it’s actually harming themselves.  Everything we do to and for ourselves has a ripple effect.

The 6 of Cups comes in and the end of the week reminding us to not take things too seriously, and of the importance of our inner child.

Children are so innocent and pure and need guidance and direction and love, not being controlled or manipulated.   Please treat yourself and the children in your life with love and respect.

Children need adults in their lives who are willing to be a great example for them of how to live a life with integrity and compassion, and purpose and brilliance.

This is also a reminder to enjoy the simple things in life and take pleasure in simple beautiful moments.

Each moment is unique and will never happen again in the same way.

That doesn’t mean we must hold on to it or fight against change, because good things are always coming and new moments will happen…

…but it does mean we just relax into what’s happening right now and don’t take it for granted.

Do something playful for yourself this weekend.

Weekly Guidance 12/19 – 12/25

Picture

There is a shift in energy in this week as Mercury goes retrograde and the Winter Solstice is on Wednesday.

This is the time to relax and unwind and bring cycles and projects to completion.

Tie up any loose ends and finish what you have started in the past couple of weeks.

Writing things down can help us stay organized during a Mercury retrograde cycle.

The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year and from this point on the lights starts to increase.

It’s a good time for internal reflection.

There may be some thoughts or issues that come up around your personal identity in the way that you see yourself and your roles in the world.

Know that you don’t have to define yourself.

It’s OK to be with pure essence of your soul without having to place any demands or expectations on it.

Connect yourself back to your state of pure awareness.

Suggested Meditation:

Light a tealight candle and burn some sage or incense.

Sit in a meditative position, breathing deeply.

Connect through your inner eye to the heart of the Cosmic mother.

You may sense this as a black space that is endlessly expansive.

You may feel that the boundaries of your body dissolve, and feel around you an endless space.

This is a completely natural place to be as it is the source of all creation.

It is safe and nurturing for your spirit.

Allow yourself to be silent in this place for 10 to 20 minutes.

Weekly Guidance 12/12 – 12/18

Picture

In the beginning of the week we have the 3 of Pentacles, which is about working together towards a common goal.

When working together as a team, the goal of the team must be more important than any individual’s motive.  With all things in life you need a balance, so you also must make sure that everything is fair, and no one is being taken advantage of.

To have an effective team, there must be clarity.  Everyone must know their part.  This requires communication which takes us to…

The 3 of Swords in the middle of the week.  This is about using logic over emotion.

If you find yourself in the midst of a highly charged emotional atmosphere, we can clear the storm by using logic to sort through our emotions.

The most sensible and logical solution to a problem may not be the most immediately emotionally satisfying.

However, if we let our emotions overtake us and ignore our logic…this can lead to us becoming soft, lazy, self-serving, complacent.

This bring us to the 9 of Cups.

Using logic over emotion and cooperating with your community will ultimately bring a deeper sense of emotional fulfillment.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking you should only do things that make you feel good.

Cliché statements like “follow your heart” and “if it feels good, do it, if it doesn’t, don’t” may sometimes accurately apply in our lives…

But they can also be dangerous if we don’t critically analyze our own motivations and why something makes us feel good.

For example, stepping into our Highest Potential may mean doing something that is extremely challenging.

But if you choose to instead do what feels best, you could miss out on an opportunity for growth, learning and experience.

Not only that, but if you could’ve benefited others by making a different choice, then you’re actually robbing humanity of your gifts.

Working through your difficult emotions and keeping yourself mentally fit will ultimately be more satisfying anyway because you’re fulfilling a deeper need, and that is to participate in life and contribute to society in a way that is useful and helpful in the long term.
