Weekly Reading 1/30 – 2/5

Picture

In the beginning of the week, the 9 of Wands has us feeling defensive and like we need to protect ourselves.

We may feel worn out, exhausted, tired, or at the end of our ropes.

Like we’ve used all our resources.

In the middle of the week, Strength comes in and reminds us that we are not weak, and we need to focus on the things that are worth fighting for.

Sometimes the point where we are feeling most vulnerable is really when we find what makes us strong.

At the end of the week we have the 2 of Wands which has us seeing potential and feeling powerful.

We can use our Strength to be visionaries.

Long term planning and thinking in terms of the bigger picture will help us to create innovative solutions for our lives.

Native Spirit

The Native American spirit sat alone by a towering tree waiting for his lover. He didn’t know how long he had been there, and she wasn’t even sure if he knew he’d passed away a long, long time ago.

She had been on a nature walk in the warm spring breeze, and she had her magical staff with her.  She was out to greet and giggle with the hidden folk, and make offerings to the elements.

Since she knew how to help spirits cross over, she asked him if he would like some help.  Since this was a stubborn spirit, he said no.

“You can’t help everyone,” she said “you have to respect their free will.”  So she let him be, and went on her way.

I met her in the fall, when my grandpa had come to the end of his life.   The song, “Don’t Fear the Reaper,” by Blue Oyster Cult ran through my mind over and over.  The ding of the cowbell was like the tick, tick, tick of the clock.

She taught me that when we die, we have a choice of where to go.  Sometimes, we choose to stick around a little longer.

We were all sitting in a circle, and there was a group consensus to attempt to guide that Native American spirit again.  Maybe he’ll change his mind.

The woman who enters non-ordinary reality through the eyes of Jesus said, “I don’t think she’s around anymore…” meaning his lover who he waited for.  She came around to say she’s sorry, she’s moved on.  She didn’t know he’d been waiting for her all this time.

His two brothers from his tribe came to help.  They were warriors, they came back for him and they showed him where he could go.

We put him in a canoe and sailed him off down the river toward the nature realms.

Weekly Guidance 1/16 – 1/22

Picture

We have peace and mental clarity at the beginning of the week with the 4 of Swords.

This would be a good time to simplify and organize your life and your thoughts.

Spend some time in prayer/meditation, and purifying and cleansing your sacred space.  Bring order to chaos.

With the Sun moving into Aquarius in the middle of the week, we strive toward Higher Ideals.

The Ace of Pentacles comes in and advises us to start from where we are.

What can we offer with what we have now, to participate and be in the flow of life?  We all have something that we can offer.

With the Wheel of Fortune at the end of the week, we know that we can always handle whatever comes our way.

Life will never give you something you’re not prepared for, unless it’s a catalyst for change, or to nudge you in a certain direction.

Open up to opportunities that come your way.

Try new things, and if you feel like you’re not ready, practice until you are.

Sometimes we also need to start before we’re ready, and then we have a remembrance of what we’re doing as we’re doing it.

We’re never done learning and experiencing.

Day after day, moment after moment, there’s still another level of learning, uncovering, discovering, clearing, maturing, purifying, etc.

Whatever it is, we’re always evolving, we’re always changing, and there is never an end, we’re never done.

That’s why on the Wheel, the Tarot ends and beings with a T, because endings and beginnings go hand in hand.

Weekly Reading 1/9 – 1/15

Picture

The Queen of Wands at the beginning of the week means that we are very busy with social activities and taking care of business.

But it’s fun for us and we enjoy it and we’re able to take care everything very easily.

With the Queen of Cups in the middle of the week we have emotional stability.

Happiness peace, calm, and tranquility.

We’re easily able to handle emotional situations.

At the end of the week we have the Two of Swords, which can be like being at a crossroads or some sort of stalemate where we can’t really see the future or the next step.

This card means that we need to rely on our mental powers and the combined power of our logic and intuition to make a decision.

Sometimes if we put off making a decision for too long the universe will make a choice for us.

Participating in the flow of life means that sometimes we must decide – even if it may not be the right decision it’s at least better than making no decision at all.

If things feel stuck, stagnant, or blocked, tune in to your subconscious and find out what may be slowing you down.  This will help to find out how to get the ball rolling again.

Weekly Reading January 2nd – 8th

Picture

The World kicks of the week with a sense of accomplishment and the feeling of coming full circle.

We are seeing the bigger picture of our lives.

With the World card, we have an opportunity to complete cycles so we don’t have to keep repeating them.

The 5 of Cups shows up, which represents emotions, particularly grief, regret, disappointment, isolation, guilt, apathy, etc.

Whenever a major change is happening, we need to acknowledge the transformation and shedding of the past to fully move forward without emotional baggage weighing us down.

That may mean taking a moment to first know where you’ve been and where you’re going, and finding out if there’s a part of you that feels left behind, forgotten, unsure, uncomfortable, etc.

Thank that part of you for what it’s taught you in the past and for being there for you when you needed it.

Let that part of you know that it’s ok, and it’s safe to come along for the ride in your new plans/new approach to life/ different changes you’re experiencing.

The 3 of Cups is about feeling supported and included by a like-minded community, as opposed to the rejection of the 5 of Cups.

Always being true to yourself may sometimes leave you feeling outcast.

More often than not, being true to yourself will actually inspire those around you and attract other people who are on the same wavelength.

Now, you’re stronger than ever because you’ve survived so much and remained true to yourself, so you’re invincible to shine your light.
